A surprisingly good episode despite, or perhaps because of, all of the horrible, horrible English employed within.
Tazusa tries to recover from her previous failings by winning the hearts of the judges with her free program skate.
Tazusa continues to have her run ins with the press; I’m not sure if it’s cultural translation, but I don’t see her as super rude. Then, I suppose she is quite direct in her responses.
Still, it’s always nice to see a bitchy character mellow, and that is exactly what is happening otherwise. By failing to hate Pete for absolutely everything that he says, Tazusa worries less and overcomes her mental blocks – although one would expect a near Olympic-level skater to cope better with stress.
Essentially Tazusa has stepped forward in this episode and worked to reach a new level among her peers. If she keeps this up – if she “rises above it” – she’ll be fine.
